The GreenLight PV™ Laser has proven to be the ideal tool for soft tissue vaporization of the enlarged prostate (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia - BPH). Now LASERSCOPE has set a new Standard of Care with the introduction of the HPS™, a Diode-pumped Solid State High Performance Laser System.

The 532nm-wavelength of the GreenLight PV™ and HPS ™ is highly absorbed by oxy-hemoglobin and not by water. This makes the system, unlike other lasers, a unique tool for a non-contact soft tissue - bloodless - vaporization in a liquid environment. The effect is so hemostatic that even patients on anticoagulants may be treated with little fear of complications.

In most of the cases, the treatments are performed under spinal anesthesia. The laser energy is delivered by a side-firing fiber through a continuous-flow cystoscope.

The GreenLight systems operate superficially (0.8 mm - penetration) and do not heat up large tissue volumes. There are practically no gross necrosis of tissue, edema or delayed sloughing.

Precision Beam:
A low divergence beam (0.05-0.15 radians) allows a fast, consistent and sustainable vaporization over a large range of working distances (1-3 mm), anatomy configurations and tissue compositions.
